Performance

To really test out the 2021 Ford Raptor’s ability to explore, you need some serious power under the hood: enter the High-Output 3.5L V6 EcoBoost® engine, with aluminum engine blocks and cylinder heads. This bad boy offers up 450 horses and 510 lb-ft of torque, allowing you the ability to blow past other drivers on the highway or haul up to 3,629 kg—or to do both. An advanced electronic 10-Speed SelectShift® automatic transmission with Tow/Haul mode ensures smooth shifting and efficiency, while Ford’s Auto Start/Stop technology just adds to the fuel economy of the Raptor.
And for when you’re charting your own course, the Ford Terrain Management System™ with Seven Selectable Drive Modes allows you to fine-tune torque distribution according to the weather and terrain you find yourself tackling. Add in the 5-Link Rear Suspension system featuring extra-long Trailing Arms, a Panhard Rod, and 24-inch Coil Springs, and you’ve got serious capability when covering rocky terrain. Simply put, the 2021 Ford F-150 Raptor is an absolute beast when it comes to performance—on road, and off.

Design

A high-strength steel frame and lightweight, military-grade aluminum-alloy body make the Ford F-150 the toughest truck out—that is, until you get behind the wheel of the F-150 Raptor. Take the F-150 and add in class-exclusive, next-generation FOX™ Live Valve™ Internal Bypass Shocks with Electronic Control Technology for a suspension that keeps you comfortable no matter the terrain—without losing anything in the way of performance. The 2021 F-150 Raptor sits tall on a set of 35-inch BFGoodrich® All-Terrain K02 tires, fearing no inclement weather, while an exclusive grille, badging, and front skid plate give the Raptor a seriously aggressive boost in the style department. The available 37-inch wheels add an even more domineering look to this powerful pickup. Inside, a 12-inch Productivity Screen, SYNC® 4 with Enhanced Voice Recognition infotainment system, and FordPass Connect™ with Wi-Fi Hotspot gives the Raptor a modern feel and connectivity, even if you’re taking it as far from polite society as possible.

Ford Raptor Model Changes

With an extensively redesigned suspension, the latest version offers even more capability than the outgoing 2020 Ford F-150 Raptor. Looks-wise, not much has changed, though the interior takes more than a fair share of its styling cues from the redesigned F-150. This means an upgrade to a 12-inch touchscreen along with Ford’s new centre stack that allows the shifter to fold flat into it.
The major changes come in terms of suspension, where the new 5-Link Rear Suspension with Panhard Rod takes advantage of the Raptor’s wide base thanks to extra-long Trailing Arms. Likewise, the largest shocks ever found on the Raptor, a set of next-generation FOX™ Live Valve™ Internal Bypass Shocks with Electronic Control Technology provide greater control, adjustability, and resist heat buildup better than prior models.

When it comes to power, style, and capability, there aren’t many trucks that can keep pace with the redesigned 2021 Ford F-150 Raptor. A truck lover’s dream, and a true off-road warrior, the Raptor is durable, dependable, and a helluva lot of fun to drive.
